Learner Driver - Roundabouts

Hello, I've been driving for a couple of months now and have 7 of my lessons done, I'm fairly confident now but one thing that absolutely wrecks my head is roundabouts. I've no problem being in the right lanes etc. but it seems like when half the time I pull out dangerously and the other half I'm way too hesitant and have what feels like a traffic jam behind me. Other drivers seem to be oblivious to what lane they're meant to be in as well. Did anyone else have this when they were learning to drive because in every other aspect I'm fine and it's really annoying.

Irish drivers are generally clueless as to how to drive around roundabouts. Most of them seem to think that indicator lights are an optional extra too. Don't feel bad about being nervous about them.

busy roundabouts are hell on earth. take it from someone who learned to drive 30 years ago, when all was quiet.
it's practice and plenty of it.

agree with other poster. indicators are an optional extra. don't go by where you think car might be going either.

    keep practicing and good luck

There are more then just indicators for figuring out where other drivers are going. If you can learn this skill then you will be able to get out into decent gaps in the traffic. Take a look at moving off, roundabout and most importantly anticipation here to get a better idea on how to deal with roundabouts and get into the gaps in the traffic. You can look at other drivers; indicators, position, speed, likely route and actual direction.
