Kennel Cough Query

Hi all, our little Yorkie developed Kennel cough after getting her vaccines, which she is now on medication for. All seems fine with her now thankfully. My question is can Kennel cough spread to humans? My wife is expecting at the moment so I guess we are being overly careful!! I never thought to ask the vet and my wife was looking online but getting conflicting answers. Any answers are very much appreciated.

Human infection with Bordetella bronchiseptica (which is the most common cause of kennel cough) is rare.
