I hope you didn't find this near your house, as I'd suspect a nest nearby.

    I'm still thinking mouse guys.
The tail is long, but it's also thin and hairy.A rat would have a broader, hairless tail would it not?

    Hey Friedcircuits,
Is that a green dustpan the critter is lying in?If so,I'm thinking that critter is quite small as you say,so I'm still thinking it's a mouse.

Is your cat available for call outs?

He's done call outs! Only for the neighbours though. He camps out in their sheds from time to time. Best area ratter we have

Hmm. I'd always recommend a cat or a terrier for the job, but I'm actually with your OH on this one. All my cats were brought home by the kids and I'm now down to two (thankfully). I'll get no more when these are gone as they don't discriminate enough. I got pure disgusted with them during the cold winters we had and I was picking up between 3 and 10 poor dead birds in the yard every day. The only reason the ratter mostly catches rats is cos he's too clumsy to catch birds usually. He also brings in shrews, which I love
