DIY down light covers.

I have a single story roof over my kitchen.

Although it is not properly insulated I have four led down lighters installed which let any heat build up escape easily.

One evening last week I could actually feel the wind from outside blow down on top of me through these.

I want to make a cheaper alternative to these:

I am thinking of getting ceramic or clay flower pots and sealing them with silicone.

Any suggestions how I would make a cut-out for the wiring along the lip of the pot?

I'm not sure what to use to cut these materials.

    I did the same thing.

Use an angle grinder with a tile cutting disk, and you'll be able to cut a small notch for the wiring (do this outside, and be careful!)
