could somebody possibly help me, i have a macbook pro 15'' 2011 model that had OS X Lion, i never installed maverick or any other (if any os) i went from lion to yosemite and i had a problem with a few applications that wouldn't work.

i have fixed most of them by uninstalling and then re downloading, except for Aperture 3 which i bought a disc copy for 200 quid or 300 quid or something as its the version for commercial use at the time of buying.

i tried to 'update' it on the app store but it kept popping up a message as it cannot install due to apple id invalid or something. i only have one apple id.
it does not appear on the 'purchased' tab in the app store as i bought a physical disc copy from apple.

i uninstalled it with intention of reinstalling it and trying to update it from there but when i put in the disc to reinstall it says

''Aperture.mpkg can't be installed because its digital signature is invalid.
the package may have been corrupted or tampered with please get a new copy of the package and try again''

    what should i do here!??

This error is sometimes the result of the time/date being wrong. If not that, try repairing permissions and restarting. But it’s possible the pkg is just corrupted.

I seem to recall people with older disc copies of the app were basically given the App Store version in Mavericks. But as you never used Mavericks you never got that free upgrade. You'll need to call support and ask for a redemption code for the App Store version. You'd want to be quick though because Aperture will be killed off soon so once that disappears off the store your fecked. There was one last compatibility update for Yosemite but that's the end of the road for Aperture development.

Don't listen to any excuses from tech support or the old "ask my manager" routine. They can easily give out redemption codes in this situation if you provide your Aperture serial number and Apple ID. I think they even upgraded trial & pirated copies of Aperture, iWork, etc at the time in Mavericks so they can easily give you a redemption code for a genuine disc version.
