honestjohn.co.uk or parkers guides will tell you all you need to know...including the emissions which you can then go to motortax.ie with and see what your Tax will cost you.
As for insurance, ring around as everyone is assessed differently.

Looks like a smartarse answer, but better to get the opinions of those in the know rather than some random personal opinions from (perhaps) somebody with an issue with either car.
