Complicated FIS Query

This may be a bit complicated but if anyone could advise, I'd be grateful.

I'm currently on jobseekers allowance and my partner (un-married) is on my claim as a qualified adult. My partner was on BTWEA when starting his own business but was added to my claim last year as the business was not yet turning a profit.

The business has turned a small profit this year of €12,000 and looks likely to do quiet a bit better in the coming year.

I've been asked to attend a TUS interview but we're thinking that it may be possible for my partners business to employ me instead.

If my partner were to employ me for 19 hours per week at minimum wage of €8.65 ph, could anyone tell me if we would be eligible for FIS given the fact that my employment is coming via my partners business?

Once you are employed by a company and paying prsi ect I could see no reason why not.

Are you not ineligible for FIS if you are employed by a connected party?

In any event op, if your combined income is above the threshold, you would not get FIS. That you are on minimum wage would have no material bearing.

It has to be a real job but other than that it should be no problem.

The prsi issue gets more complicated when its a husband and wife scenario but you said partner so that doesn't seem to apply.

The main issue is you'll have to sign off and await fis and its almost certain they will send it to an inspector.

Also ye do have kids right? As you can't get fis if you don't. :)
