Hi guys, bit of a how long is a piece of string type question. Anyways

Looking for ideas what colour to paint my sitting room. It's a regular, 3bed semi sitting room with a bay type front window with straight edges rather than curved style
Black solid fuel stove with red brick surround half way to ceiling
    Huge white curtains
A wood effect floating type timber floor... Midway between a pine and mahogany shade I would say

The furnishings have to stay due to financial constraints but I'm happy to mix a couple of colours on the walls

Any suggestions? , just shoot away anyhow please

A warm red, or egg yolk yellow, if you don't mind bright colours.

Do you spend much time there during the day? or are you there mostly in the evening?

What colour are your curtains? And sofa?

Personally I'd go with a darkish red, to make it cosy. But it really depends on what kind of look you want. I've seen a very dark green look brilliant, but they had a lot of pictures on the walls. Or just a very light colour to give an airy feel to the place.

Is your furniture modern, antique, what kind of look are you going for?

The colour cards from the paint companies give some ideas of looks, and I think there are websites where you can upload a picture of your room and fill in the walls or whatever with different colours, to see what it'd look like.

Hey John, I would suggest you going for a cool but bright colour combo. As you have Sofa in white , what about using Burnt Orange with cream colour? These are hit colours for this Winter. Orange will add the feeling of cosiness in the room and Cream hue will make it look open and airy. Moreover these shades will go well with your light and dark brown chairs. Cheers !

    Hi,

I suggest you, you can paint a wall where is the sofa in navy blue pantone, there are some different tones but I like more the dark one. It is warm colour and it is great for winter time. Also you can combine this color with oche tone, you can put some cushions, decorative elements... in this colour.
