farmer spraying

My house is located in the countryside and have a large hillat the front(100 acres) and back(60acres)of my house. The fields are used for rearing cattle and sheep and I've noticed the farmer spray some stuff on the field every few years. He probably does this every year but I've probably missed him. Can someone tell me what is it a farmer would usually spray apart from slurry on his fields.

Reason why I'm asking is I've 2 acres in between these 2 hills and I'm going to be growing my own orgonic fruit/veg next year and would like to know if this could be toxic and spoil my veg when it drifts down over my field like has done in previous years.

you're going to have to ask him, but as it is all grass land, it is likely to control docks or some other weed species. It will not be a pesticide or a fungicide .

Whi don't you ask the farmer? If it's grass land he has I wouldn't be to worried as it's probibly a weed controle that's done every few years. Allot of people think it drifts off across the sky, it dosnt that would be throwing money into the wind. It's sprayed on a dry calm day so the mist/droplets can hit the grass and not drift away.

You see I don't know him and didn't want to bother him just yet. I wanted to know could it potentially be poisonous. If its for weeds, I'm sure that will fall into this category or even worse!

More than likely MCPA or nettleban. It won't be Round-up, that's for sure!
Now is the time to introduce yourself. Not when you want a couple of tons of free FYM , or a loan of the rotovator ;)
