    Hi
bought 2000 euros worth of AIB shares few months ago at 8c. after reading the posts here and talking to few people, I was told BOI would be a better company and not AIB. So kind of in a dilemma where I could swap with minimal loss or stick with AIB. Question is would you prefer 22000 shares with AIB or 7000 shares with BOI on a long term. When i read 1 year old posts people were saying to stay away from BOI as well but I would have been happy had i invested in them a year ago.
    Thx

Dump the AIB and run. The 8 cent price is crazy and is due to the low free float of shares. Google "AIB share price anamoly" and it will tell you all you need to know.

Take your €2000 and put it all on black.. no red.

You're just gambling with your money, evident by the fact you bought AIB shares. As for changing to Bank of Ireland, I suppose that would be speculating seeing as you're attempting to seek advice.

Honestly though, that €2000 is just a punt. Some advice in general. Don't buy in a falling market (not the case with BOI) in the hopes that you bought just at the right time and they'll take off. And past performance doesn't predict future returns (as in, you didn't buy BOI a year ago so don't base your decision on that)
