What car to buy? €10k budget

    Hi folks,

    First kid on the way so I am looking to buy a suitable family car.
    We have a 1.4 petrol Golf which we will keep as a second car.

    Mileage wise we do approx. 25000 kilometres a year but I would expect that to rise a bit when the baby comes along driving home to see grandparents etc.
    Is 30000 kilometres too low to be thinking about a diesel?

    Preferably want a car with Isofix for the baby seat.
    Looking for a car with good boot space too.

    We would like a car around 09/10 although this might be difficult because of our budget.

    So far I have test driven a few cars and am thinking about...
    • Skoda Octavia
    • Ford Mondeo
    • Opel/Vauxhall Insignia

    Any ideas/info about these cars and/or others I should be looking at?
