Going from carers allowance to JSA

the person I care for is having to head in to a nursing home so I have to notify the carers section that I will no longer caring. What happens then? Do I go on to JSB? I didn't see this coming so I'm worried I'll be left with no money coming in. I need to look for employment but it could take a while :-(
