Hi all in wondering would anyone have any info on becoming a CSCS plant and machinery trainer?

I've about 10 years experience operating plant and have all the relevant tickets to operate, but I'd like to get into the training and assessment side of it.

This appeals to me as I'd like to go back to being self employed and pass on skills that I already have

The CSCS scheme is administered by Fás. Might be worth contacting them direct about the route to becoming a certified / qualified trainer.

I know a few people who work as "trainers" in 'specialist' areas (e.g Safepass). Some have done a cert / diploma to Fetac Level 6 in training, learning and development. I think they refer to them as "train the trainer" courses. That type of qualification may be part of the criteria to qualify as a CSCS trainer.
