Sizing of a Buffer tank in relation to a stove

    Hi there,
wondering if anyone can have an input into this.

We are at present in the middle of a new build of our 2800 SQFT house. Our heating system consists of oil boiler, solar and a back boiler stove using a buffer tank. Either i am thick or my plumber is an **** but i cant seem to get my head around how the system actually is going to work. Is the water pumped from this tank when it reaches a specific temperture to the cylinder etc??

The house is well insulated, 100mm in the cavity and 62.5mm on the inner of the external walls, triple glazing etc.

Trying to source the bb stove at the moment, plumber says to get one that will heat the 150 litre buffer tank only, whereas any shop I visit just want to know how many rads I have(20). I am worried that if I size the stove too large that there will be too much hot water for the tank to deal with which may lead to problems and on the other hand if i undersize it, is it a waste of time???

Have also put in with the foundations an external air intake facility for this stove but as the house is not passive/air tight i'm not sure i will use it now as it doesnt seem to be any advantage for a freestanding stove in a house with vents( will be needed i guess if we ever put an insert in there).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    NG
