Concieving after implanon

Does anyone have any experience of getting pregnant after implanon removal? We're planning on having baby #2 by this time next year so I'm getting my implanon removed this week. I'm not sure if we should try straight away? Or should we wait for a cycle? I've heard the best time to convince is straight after removal due to a surge in hormones, but I've also been advised to wait until I've had a period for accurate dates.
Any advice or experience would be really appreciated.
Also, I've just stocked up on pregnacare and folic acid, but if anyone has any other tips to prepare I'd love to hear it :)
