I'm thinking of selling my 2011 passat. It's the highline model with the 2.0tdi engine. 60k miles, tax an full vw service history. Also a few months warranty still on the car. I'm wondering what money are these making. ? Donedeal prices seem to vary ALOT. This is a pic of a car just like my own.

I'm actually selling my own estate version, although mines the 1.6TDI.

Originally I had it up for 19k, spoke with Gerry Brady in Karmann motors who told me that's what he would be looking for, so ideally should be lowered. I changed it to 16500 and got plenty of calls, I have a guy who promised deposit tonight after agreeing a price close enough to asking to make me happy. :)

The 1.6TDI I think is more in demand, but yours is a highline, What extras, cool gadgets does it have? The warranty you mentioned, did you buy extended warranty? I know the base warranty for VW is only 2 years on these.

    Here's mine:

Thanks for the reply. Yours is a tidy looking mMotor. You won't have an issue selling that I'd say. Mine is riddled with gadgets. Parking sensors, tyre pressure sensors, blue tooth, heated leather seats, the list goes on. I was thinking of putting it down for 17.5 to 18k? I don't want to put people off with a huge asking price but to me it seems fair as its a quality motor. I got a year's warranty on the car in March this year (2014) so there is still 5 months on that. Also there's 11 months VW break down assistance on the car. Have u had much interest from donedeal?

Yea, its been all donedeal for me, I have it on Carzone but not getting anything at all there.

I would say 17-18k would be a sweet spot for your alright, it might that a couple of weeks but you'll get a lot of interest. I've noticed a lot of callers asking me about the extras more than the actual car performance. Spoke to a guy last night for 20 minutes about the GPS and Bluetooth unit, and another about the reverse camera.

If you are going to sell, highlight the extras, they're what make the car more sell-able, not especially more valuable but definitely more sell-able. Also highlight the fuel economy, a pic of the trip computer would go down well (if it's low enough to garner interest)
