    I am after a 15'6" laptop.

I will mainly using it for:
    - Watching movies/netflix/RTE player etc
    - Surfing the web
    - Social Networking
    - Typing up assignments (Planning on buying microsoft office with it)

I was of the opinion that an i3 processor, 4GB of RAM and at least 500 GB's of storage would be enough.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks

You are correct. Any machine will do what you want these days. Even a far lower spec, atom + 2GB of RAM will breeze through that kind of work on Windows 8.1.
