I recently bought a mini duo and tried to flash an openvix image.
It booted up and then stalled. I tried to restart the box but now it's just stuck on a red light and I can't do anything with it. Is there anyway I can fix this, it's completely wrecking my head and I don't want to buy a new freeview box.

It sounds like you have bricked your box sorry man, Vu+ have released time bombs in there drivers and all original images have these in them once there VU+ solo , solo2se ,vu duo , vu duo 2 , etc if it,s a clone of vu+ you should have used clonesafe images for this box , contact the person you got your box off they should be able to get a new flash chip this has to be replaced as the time bomb has wiped this it should cost no more then 10 to 20 euro and make sure it,s programmed aswell this is very inportant then a local tv repair or computer repair shop can replace this for for you or if your able to do this yourself and if your dublin based i can pm you a shop in dublin that will replace the flash chip for 30 euro tryed and test on 3 solo 2 boxes a few months ago but you need to get the new flash chip , regards bored_stupid

    Thanks for the reply
Yeah I'm based in dublin and if you could pm the repair shop that would be brilliant, would they be able to supply the flash chips or do I have to get it myself

Good morning scomp1 the flash chip you need to get this yourself i,ll send you a link to a chinese seller i,ve being usein for years without any problem,s it shows the chip you need but states out of stock but if you contact her she will sort out the chip for you and the price is 19.60 euro thats with DHL post and get 2 chips have a spare one handy in the future and make sure there { PROGRAMMED } , then goto repair shop get chip replaced then flash clonesafe image and your box will be up and running again lesson learned i,ve been there so i know what it,s like and this is the cheapest fix for the box unless you can contact the person you bought the box off and they can help you out some way , regards bored_stupid
