I have the attached picture as the main light in my living room and it's very dim lighting.
Anyone have any idea what those bulbs are called, if they can be brought at higher wattage or where I could get them?
    Thanks in advance

They look like LEDs? Where did you get the fitting originally?

Looking at the exposed lamp, they aren't user replaceable, you might want to consider changing the whole fitting

You might get more replies in the Electrical forum.
I would edit the thread title as it looks like a "wind up" in a DIY forum.
Suggest something like " Can anybody identify this bulb "
As other poster says , they do look like LEDs.

Generally not, LED replacement would not be for the casual DIY-er

that looks like a light called Haggas from ikea-
if it is then the led bulbs are built in and cannnot be changed
we had one in our apartment and found it too be too dim - went and spoke to ikea customer service and they confirmed - leds cant be changed - so we had to change the whole fitting for a different type altogether....

Looks like the one alright: http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/40207744/

The output is described as 75 lm (lumens) which is not a lot - a standard 40w lamp produces 325 (note: lumens is not to be confused with brightness - see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_flux )

Cheers Spocker for providing the links-
i couldnt as i dont have enough posts yet.
sorry op but your only option for a brighter light is to change the whole thing altogether or maybe support it with a standing lamp- the haggas light isnt good enought for a living room - bedroom maybe but thats about it.
