    Hi Guys,

We will be flying to Shanghai next year on the 20th of May. After our trip we intend to fly to America from Beijing. How long do you recommend we stay in China and what places do you recommend we visit?

How long have you got? Seriously, China is huge and planning a trip can be daunting. It all depends on how much time you have, what you like and how much ground you may or may not want to cover. Search this forum, Google and get a guidebook. Then ask us.

I spent 2 months there and only felt like I scratched the surface. Unusually for me I actually liked Beijing and Shanghai and I'm generally not one for giant cities (I was lucky that they weren't caked in a never ending smog when I was there)
But as someone said above how long have you got. It's a huge place that has a lot to offer.

Im doing a road the world trip with my gf and at the moment id just like to give myself a certain amount of time to play with in a country and go from there. Id just like to gather from other peoples experiences where to go and how long they would spent in a place.

I already have flights booked to nz,indonesia, singapore, vietnam, cambodia, thailand, hong kong, korea, japan.

Im thinking 3 or 4 weeks in China will be enough as we also intend on going to USA for 2 or 3 weeks, then central america for one last month before we go home. Before i book the next batch of flights i just need to have an idea of what places to visit in China.

We like a little of everything tbh. Culture, adventure, food, activities, music, art, scenic views, hiking etc

I have a friend in Beijing so were thinking of spending a week plus there. Where else could we go?
