    Hi,

Can anyone recommend any useful books for someone planning to build a house?

Looking for something practical relating to the build and planning not abstract architecture please!

    Any help is much appreciated!

Not sure if this is the newest edition but I read one this year and it's very good.

I was actually looking at the reviews of this last night. Edition 10 is out now.

Where was it published? it relevant to the Irish industry?

    Thanks for the info.

It's UK based but in places they point out the differences between Irish and UK regulations. Building materials and heating systems are badically the same between countries which is the important thing.

That's the other book I saw recommended but I can't seem to find a copy of it. Even on the homebond website the links don't work.

Homebond book will not appear online. You have to buy it on paper form from Homebond on Canal Road.

Well I live in mayo so it's a bit far to go. I bought the house builders bible so hopefully that will have all the info I need.
