    Hi.
I am currently in the process of purchasing a house.
We need to put in a completely new kitchen.
I'm not experienced at all when it comes to this kind of thing & am just beginning to have a look around and see what's out there but I'm wondering in general terms how much of a difference in price would you be looking at between the various choices of kitchen Worktops?

I know there will be a lot of factors in determining this but I guess I'm just looking at it in ballpark terms.
Our kitchen would be on the small to medium size.
Would there be a huge difference in price between granite, silestone and laminate?
One laminate I saw in a showroom was a brand called top form & they looked nice but I'm wondering how much cheaper they would be?
I'm just wondering would anybody be able to give a ballpark of what each of say granite, silestone and laminate could cost in an average size kitchen?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    You have a few options,

    Laminate,
    solid wood,
quartz also known as composite stone
    granite.

Silestone is a brand of quartz not a product.

These prices would be supply only from your local builders providers

Laminate from €15 per metre (600mm deep)a decent brand would be nearly double this.
Topform Square edged laminate worktops from €60 per metre by 600mm deep.
Solid oak worktops €100 per metre by 600mm deep.

This would be supply and fitted but can vary massively depending on colour and brand.Silestone is the dearest quartz available.

Quartz or granite-from €350 per metre by 600mm deep

    Worktops do vary in price.

Best bet is to get the kitchen quoted for the Top Form laminate first.
Then get a few quotes based on this.

Then get those quotes adjusted for the type of stone you want.
We went for Silestone, even so there are different grades/quality which change the pricing.
We also got the dining/breakfast bar done in Top Form laminate with a light natural wood effect.

If you are in the Dublin area you're quite welcome to have a look.
