    Hi

I'm a student whose trying to claim personal tax back from two summers worth of work and I'm completely clueless as to how it works. I've signed up with the 'PAYE Anytime' service and have had the request to claim €1650 worth of personal tax credit back processed, the problem is that I don't know if that is the definite amount that I will receive and when I will receive it. Anyone else who can familiarise with this situation I'd really like to know what's going on.

    Thanks

Do you know for a fact that you actually paid any tax?

I think so because when I looked at my payslip there were deductions made from my wages under all of the tax headings.

Fair enough. First off, you can request a P21 balancing statement for the first summer through your online account. Make sure your personal tax credit and payed credit are selected for the year you are claiming (2012, 2013 etc)
If you are confused about using the online service, there are instructional videos to watch which will show you what to do.

If the second summer refers to this summer (2014) you will need to complete a paper form p50 and submit to your local tax office with this year's p45.
