Hi all. I was hoping if you could help me with a problem I'm having with my gas boiler and pump. This evening when I went to turn on my heating the boiler would not start fully, model Baxi Solo 3 40 PF. The boiler light was on but the fan light was not. Seems pretty straight forward. Fan needs replacing, I need a plumber. But the water pump, located just below the boiler, was warm to the touch. Why would the pump be warm if there was no hot water running through it or it wasn't running? I shut everything off and called my landlord to get it fixed. I went back to test it again before bet and it the boiler ignited as normal. Turned off the boiler at the timer switch but left the system powered to check and the water pump seemed to be getting warm again. Its all powered down now. Anybody have any insight? Thanks for reading.
