checked the sunrise on the phone 08:15, left the house 07:15 fourthy minute drive to my permissions, planned to be down there for before first light,
07:45 broad daylight when I arrived, so I said to myself there be no foxes about but I'll go for a wander anyhow, sure as hell 2nd fields in theres a fox in the bottom corner a good 300 yards or more away,
Got into position stared calling he came gingerly up 50 yards then he started to get nervous and began to stop, I kept calling on and off for a solid hour got him into around 175yards and off he pops through the ditch. 😡😡
Off I go to another side of the valley to get a rabbit for the pot, parked the car looked up and two long fields in here's a fox out sunning herself,
Couldn't of asked for better conditions sun was rising behind me, the wind was blowing into my face,
Ran across the 1st field got to the ditch no sign of the fox, climbed up onto the ditch for a better look and guess whats looking back at me a lovely vixen, but she couldn't see me with the sun,
I don't think I'll ever get an easier fox than that,
After giving up all hope and convincing myself that I was wasting my time,

Thanks. How far out was she when shot? Where did you hit her, did she drop on the spot with the .17. Gun looks well.

Slight bit over 100 yards Id reckon, I hit her dead centre of the chest, (had all the time in the world she couldn't see me with the sun) she was facing me, but she jumped and rolled so I put a 2nd shot into her,
The rifle is a Cz American style stock, 16 inch barrel, nikon scope

What do you guys do with foxes after you shoot them? Stuff them or bury them or what?

A slight breeze towards me, hornady ammo haven't had any problems with it and haven't tried any other ammo,

Stew them with cabbage carrots and new season spuds is a must, :-) :-)

Throw them into the ditch as far in as you can, Ya wouldn't want the farmer or an anti/child coming across it,

    What??
Fcuk carrots and spuds. She makes a beautiful curry out of them. I then use the tail to wipe the curry off me mouth :)
