Venues in and around Louth?

    Hi.
    We're looking for a wedding venue in the Louth area. anywhere in louth or close to it (within 30 or so mins of Dundalk). We're looking at a low budget so we're trying to think outside the box a little. (i.e. any large function type spaces that might suit as wedding venues)

    Riverbank is great for a smaller wedding. Great staff which makes a big difference. Your not just another wedding there.

    I would pick the boyne valley from the above as they have nice grounds.
    Castlebellingham or Bellingham castle has reopened but It is on the very pricey side!

    I see someone recommended the four seasons, I have never been myself but it is meant to be a really nice hotel :)

    That's a great list, thanks! The glenside are in our top 5 actually. They are about 35mins drive from us tho. That's the only thing. They are doing a brilliant package at the moment 100 people for €2700 inc. cake, piper, chair covers & sash's and wine reception + 5 course meal. The best we could find anywhere.

    That's amazing value :) the food is meant to be really nice.
    35mins isn't bad plus if people are staying over there are a lot of options for them! If you wanted to have a church wedding there is a big church in the town that has Oliver plunnets head in it that is very popular for weddings

    It's the whole block booking (expensive) rooms I object to tbh, you will be charged for them if your guests don't take them. Bellingham castle is €85 per head plus 19 bedrooms at €180. You also must have a minimum of 150 guests.

    The OP asked for "low budget" which I presumed was around the €30-€40ish mark.

    I thought darver packages started at 60e a head, I rang them for someone last year and was told that.

    That's what we were quoted for Darver, maybe 65. That included accommodation in the castle, 11 rooms and few other bits. They had minimum numbers of 120 from what I remembered.

    Really? I always thought the Millhouse was really small and just a glorified marquee.

    Castle Dargan is in Sligo. Think they mean Darver Castle near Ardee. My fiance keeps getting confused between those two as well!!
