making the top part for a side spreader

    the top part of an abbey side spreader I have rusted away into an s hook and I took it off. Need to make a new cover now.
    Whats the best way to go about this to get the bend. any ideas?

    Did you try abbey?

    Might be possible with 2 lengths of pipe under it lengthways and another one on top of the sheet between the other 2 pipes. Press down the top one with a loader.

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    If you ask who ever you normally get steel from they will probably be able to point you in the right direction, and some of the bigger crowds may even be able to do it for you. Most of the lids are just a number of gentle folds now rather than being rolled into a barrel to suit.

    You'll probably get it done easier if you do the skin in 2 halves and then weld it to a frame rather than trying to get the full skin as one piece as it would take a big folders

    Why don't you find an old slurry tanker and cut out the size you require, ready made replacement door for your side spreader
