    Hi,

Just a very quick question if you'd be so kind. Going through the NCTS to register a vehicle imported from the UK, have the receipts, have the New Owner piece of the registration document, do I need the WHOLE registration document ? (that bit the old owner fills out and sends away to the UK registration office ?)

    Thanks for your help.

    FBP.

Yes you need the full UK V5C registration document. When car is exported from UK the previous buyer should have given it to you. There is no need for them to send to UK registration office and if they do it will cause some headaches.

Just a note on this, If the previous owner has forwarded the v5 to swansea, with your irish address. Swansea will normally forward the v5 to you in ireland in its complete form, if not you can apply for a cert of permanent export and reg the car using that.

No, you don't need the full V5.

The V5 consists of two A4-size sheets. The back page is perforated into 4 sections of the "tear off and post away" type, you don't need this. You need the complete front A4-size page.

Well, he definitely doesn't have the front section.
All the Op appears to have is the new owner slip....and a fervent hope that Swansea post him out the original V5.
BTW OP this would still be in the previous owners name as the DVLA can only change ownership to a UK address. Can't do any harm to bang them off an e-mail explaining your situation.
