Does anyone one how I could get an airbag light turned off on a 1997 e11 toyota corolla without having to go to the main dealer? Preferably in the Galway/Dublin area?

    Have you fixed the problem?

    no....

Then turning out the light will only last 10 mins or an hour etc.
If the problem hasn't been fixed then it will return the second it notices it again.

There's usually a wiring loom under the passenger's seat, connecting the seat-belt pre-tensioner to the airbag system. They wear and loosen.

My apologies I didn't explain myself very well at the start, I'm looking for someone to read the fault/clear and tell me what needs to be replaced.

What Jim said - check the seat connector. Remake the connection after cleaning it with contact cleaner.

It could be a problem with the spiral cable behind the steering wheel or the airbag ecu located behind the heater controls, ashtray area. It's very rare that this would give issues but I have seen one causing the light to illuminate.
