Case details and judgements on Justis

I am wondering how long does it take after judgement for details of a high court case to appear on Justis?

Am I right in assuming that only the judgement will be available to read and not finer details, eg affidavits? I don't currently have access to Justis but can get a three day trial.

    Any help much appreciated, thanks!

It can take a while as it's not Justis themselves that publish it, they are simply publishing the relevant publication e.g. the Irish Reports.

Check the courts website and Bailii they are invariably faster.

    Yes.

Justis doesn't suit everyone because it draws on less case sources than Westlaw (especially in terms of employment, and less-reported pre-1997 jadgments)

My personal priority when purchasing a subscription would be westlaw>justis>lexis

Westlaw doesn't have the Irish Reports, which is a major drawback.

    Justis doesn't have consolidated legislation.

I really dislike trying to search for anything on LexisNexis.

    Overall, I prefer Justis.

Yeah that's annoying alright. Sort of ridiculous, for a legal scene of our small size, that the resources are spread across a number of databases.

It would be good if our legislators would make a conscious effort to produce consolidated legislation, instead of the piecemeal efforts that are made available.

It should be publicly accessible and free to access, in my opinion.

    Only judgments not affidavits.

    Thanks for the replies all.

If a judgment is marked as "distributed" on the high court search at courts.ie but does not appear on the Judgments section, might it appear on bailii/justis/westlaw in the fullness of time?

i.e does "distributed" mean widely available?
