Anyone able to help me out resetting airbag light? Almost everytime someone gets in the back of the Golf (3 Door) the airbag light comes on. It was "fixed" 3 times already but never lasts. I have NCT coming up Sunday.

Any fault recorded in the airbag system will set a permanent fault code that can only be reset with diagnostics. If the light keeps coming back on, the fault is not fixed and no amount of resets will stop this.

If you find someone with the scantool (either VCDS* or a dealer tool) get them to do an actual diagnostic rather than just reset the light. Find the fault and fix it properly.

This is an educated guess but I'd imagine there's damage to the wire for the side airbags in the front seat: every time the seat is folded forward to let someone into the back, it disturbs the wire and triggers the fault. A diagnostic scan will report something like "short to ground" or "open to ground" for this airbag, probably "intermittent" also.

*It hasn't been called VAGCOM for several years now since VAG went on a spree of trademark enforcement against independent companies.
