A trial race was held two weeks ago to see what people thought of the course. Won by John Dempsey of Iverk Carrick. First event proper last week won by Declan Hanrahan. Held in Waterford Airport Industrial Park.

Racing for 6 to 60 years old. Great to see the kids who are too young to race on the road compete. Anything goes regarding bikes as long as they're safe.

Seven more Saturdays. Youths 3.15pm. Adults 4pm. I'm not sure if that will change when the clocks go back. Well done to Rolf Power for putting this on. Come out and support it if you get the chance.

Kudos to you guys for getting a CX league going.
Any chance ye'd expand to Cork?

Rolf has a course set up semi-permanently for the league and locked into a corner of the Industrial Estate. It took a lot of work for the first week, but he has a lot less to do each week. It's a very clever way to run it. The model could be copied in a lot of places.

Cyclo cross bikes are not compulsory. Aubrey Storey finished second the first week on a MTB. And none of the kids have a CX bike. They are racing on whatever Santa brought them. Kudos to John Dempsey from Lucca Sports who gave away a lot of his old cycling clothing to the kids for free.

There may be news coming out of Cork re cx in the next while.

Is there a link for this Waterford series? I know a few from the rebel county who would travel.

Nice one. Will try and come along to cheer on anyway (I'd be killed if I start to think about bringing a CX bike into the house). Is the 4pm start the adults or the young uns?
