Taxi seat preference - front or back seat?

A pointless thread out of boredom.

When in Ireland I always tend to sit in the front passenger side seat, outside of Ireland I also sit in the back seat, which i much prefere. Lately I've been thinking of using the back seat instead for a number of reasons (not feeling obliged to chit chat, if i'm wrecked tired coming back off an early flight i don't have to hold a conversation, more privacy...etc.)

Would this offend your average taxi driver?

Also what's the general preference out there, front or back?

    J

I usually sit on his lap.

Sometimes he'll let me do the gears.

    Always back seat.

Learned my lesson after some sleezy ****er felt me up in the front seat.

I thought it was city folk sit in the back and country folk sit in the front.

But then I moved to the city and saw city folk sit in the front and I was all like "Whhhhaaaaa?"

Fuppin' blew my mind so it did.

So to answer your question - I sit in the back but only because I'm a self-hating culchie.

Back seat stops the spit getting on you while they shout their 'knowledge' on everything.

Back, I'll still happily chat away from there if I'm in the mood for it though.

Definitely the back, I'm not terribly chatty and I figure hiding out in the back means I'm less likely to get stuck in an awkward forced conversation with a complete stranger.

Front seat, I don't want to feel like lady Penelope being driven around.

    Always the front seat.

I'm not particularly chatty or anything, I just don't like sitting at the back.
