Ear Issue

I have 10 yr old girl with slightly prominent ears, I am aware that there is corrective surgery that can be done, I am nit entirely convinced as a ga would be required, she is bit conscious as she hardly ever wears her hair up, just wondering has anyone any knowledge or experience of this, thanks
