Apple black rot

One if my apple trees -don't know variety- has a black rotten patch at the side opposite the stalk. About half of the apples on this tree are like this. Anyone know cause or cure?

Thanks. Nothing there that describes my problem exactly. My apples are only affected in one place and the rest of the apple is fine.

I suspect it's blossom end rot caused by botrytis. Read this...
