So a quick bit of background,
My friend needs a lot of work done. The dental hospital has done a bit but is not willing/able to do any more. There have been no set in stone quotes per se (except one from a Hungarian practice with office in Dublin). Now any Irish dentists that have had a look didn't really want anything to do with it (only been to a few) but they gave suggestions as to the amount of work and price region it would be.
The Hungarian place gave a quote for 6 root canals (4 x 1 canals & 2 x 3 canals) and 26 crowns. With this amount of work are Irish dentists not interested or is it just the ones we have been too?

How much would this much work cost in Ireland?
Unfortunately price does matter with this much work and the difference between getting something done or waiting for the dental hospital to take them all out and get some dentures is a poor choice to have.
Any input and thoughts would be much appreciated.

That treatment plan sounds like gross over-treatment, be afraid be very afraid.

Doing a full mouth of crowns is really complex and beyond most dentists, getting it done badly is really awful and unfortunately quite common. If it is a thing that he needs all those crowns, expect to pay 20-30k to have it done properly. Or 5-10k to have it done badly.

That dentists are refusing tells you all you need to know. If the teeth need to be removed then they are not suitable for crowns.

Advanced dentistry is expensive, necessarily so. Avoid like the plague those that offer large scale dental work, in short periods of time (20+ crowns would take me a crown and bridge specialist about 10-15 visits over a period of 6-9 months) for what seem like rock bottom prices.

Realistically, with this level of work (or "full mouth rehabilitation"), your friend cannot& should not be treated by a general dental practitioner (regular dentist).
This is highly complex work that needs to be done by a specialist, ie: a prosthodontist. & also possibly the input of an endodontist.
What result does your friend want to achieve from this work?
How did their teeth reach this stage?

Thanks folks. The damage is complete erosion of all teeth due to an eating disorder. The unfortunate thing is that 20+ grand is just not possible. So if its a choice between no work or a foreign dentist would no work be the consensus?
I believe there is quiet a bit of pain with these teeth in general as well as extreme sensitive to hot/cold. Besides the pain the biggest factor is not being able to smile at people and having nothing done has never been proposed as an option.
    Thanks again for the comments.

If its acid errosion, then a large scale composite build-up is a very conservative approach and doesn't involve huge preparation of your teeth. Wont last forever but would cost maybe 2-3k and last 5 years or so and give you a chance to save up.

No work is better than bad work regardless of who does it.

OP, your friend clearly needs to find a solution- on all scores, it sounds like dental treatment is needed- to improve function, cosmetics, confidence.
However, the solution may involve a compromise, and this is something they will need to come to terms with.
You have been doing the right thing in shopping around. A clear pattern is emerging...the dental hospital have refused treatment, numerous dentists- other than the Hungarian one- have refused treatment. The question is why?
    Something is clearly amiss.
I would advise making an appointment for a consultation with a prosthodontist, bring copies of any available past records (photos, notes, xrays). They will discuss all the various options, pros cons and costs. Then you will know for certain that you have exhausted every avenue.
