    Hi Guys

I was taking the backroads this morning at Westmanstown Castle at 7.20am.

Myself and another car came around the corner and were greeted by a host of cars flashing their lights on the other side of the road.

A deer was on the loose. Just wondering if there is deer around that area in general?

I'm from clonsilla and the only place I know deer are found is the park? Surely thats too much of a trek for a solo deer?

The council have it cornered at the back of Smthys toy stores on the Blanchardstown road north.

The road will be sealed and the stag will be shot dead.

Apparently they won't tranquilize it as it will bolt after the shot.

I felt so also. Surely they can dart it.
A member of parks told me that's the procedure.

Is that what the gardai chopper is doing? Hovering up around that direction?

Possibly to keep an eye on it if it bolts???

Every effort should be made to save it.

I was a passenger in a car at night years ago and we met a deer on the road further west, between Confey and Kellystown lane on the road that runs behind Leixlip there. No idea where would have been home for this particular one, but can't think of anywhere more local offhand.

Just back from school run and the Millenium Park is all locked up and a large van blocked the main gates to the carpark (missed the parking in there today!) and the word was that the stag is isolated in there, I spoke to someone who had been walking his dog and had seen it charging around, and he'd spoke of someone en route to shoot it.
