I submitted a holiday application form last week but I haven't heard anything back or even received an acknowledgement from my local social welfare office. Do I need to contact them to clarify the situation or do I just go on holiday and assume that they received it?

A couple of people have posted recently that they signed off online but that due to a system error it was never recorded.

Just in case the same has happened to you it might be no harm to contact your local office so as to avoid any problems upon your return.
