So for 32.5K you get as much range as a Leaf that costs 28,500 for the highest spec.

The Golf fails to include the heat pump as standard. For 32,500 Euro's starting price. LMAO !!!

The Leaf SVE is a high spec car, includes heat pump, LED headlights, Cruise, Heated seats & Steering wheel and all around camera view for parking.

The Kia Soul EV is rated at 93 miles by the EPA and includes the heat pump and battery heater, the battery heater should make a big difference in cold weather.

    Price not announced yet.

    B-Class rated at 87 miles.

I'm sure people will get more and less than the EPA ratings but the're a hell of a lot more accurate than the NEDC ratings.

The B-Class has an 0-100 Kph of 8 seconds, not bad at all. Probably more expensive than the Golf.

The electric B class will cost around E40000 .. mentioned in the motors section of the Irish indo today it also says range can be extended to 230km by a "super-charge" option but not great for ultimate battery life ..

What the "range extender" does is tell the battery management system or (BMS) to allow a greater charge, nothing fancy.

It's highly possible over use of this extra capacity will degrade the battery faster, most likely it will be an option that will reset every time the car is turned off.

You'd be better off fast charging to 70% for the sake of a few extra miles, fast charging won't have nearly the same impact as with the leaf because the battery will be a/c cooled.
