Refitting side skirts

    Unrelated to my other thread...

I have a 2002 Stilo and it has Abarth [style] skirts that are maybe from a Punto because they don't all that well. The seem to be screwed or clipped underneath but the top lip of the skirt is coming away from the body. There appears to be a strip of double-sided tape doing most of the work and of course that's peeling away at this stage leaving a gap. The RHS one fits pretty well but the LHS skirt is a bit gimped in places.

I'm having the LHS quarter panel and door painted in the next week or two, I'm assuming it's better to have the side skirts done prior to the paintwork, right?

Is it safe to just clean away the double sided tape and just tiger seal the skirts to the body permanently?

I was thinking about maybe doing this and propping the skirt with some 2'x1's against a wall while it sets? Will this be good enough do you think?

Any general tips for dealing with glues/ tiger seal to avoid sticking my face to the car? What can I use for dealing with excess? White spirits?

I've retrofitted side skirts last year, using windscreen adhesive. Very good stuff, highly recommended. :)

Buy a 400ml tub of adhesive, a bottle of primer and a bottle of cleaner. I chose Dinitrol stuff - you can find them on ebay.
