I wish I could find some that cheap for my car. Parts are very hard to come by for my car. No I am just wondering in general would the cheap ones be any good. Like I see some set in excess of €1,000 and then come across cheap ones in the price range I mentioned above. Some people say you get what you pay for but would parts for suspension not have to go through excess testing.
Maybe I am answering my own question I suppose as in the cheap ones are adequate but no where near as good as the expensive ones with good damping settings.

    Quite simply, no.

They'll feel fine (well, tolerable anyways) for the first maybe thousand kilometres if you're lucky. After that, they'll turn to utter ****.

I'll put it this way, it's like comparing Borneo biscuits against Oreos.

They appear in similar packaging, look the same, advertise the same outcome: a delicious biscuit. The main reason you got Borneo is the price; about 3 times less than Oreos. 3 times the motherf*ckin sugary goodness before your bedtime, be stupid not to Shirely!

But it will never be the same. It just won't feel right, be right. You can't put your finger on it. It turns your milk sour when dipped. It may even give you the scuts

Similar to cheapo coilys. Sure they do the same job but on some you can't adjust the pretension  they will be made with cheaper materials, may not have the adequate amount of protection and might not fit properly.

Save up and buy the real boyos ;)

No - steer well clear. I had all sorts of problems - ABS errors on the dash, they caused the car to fail the NCT, strange knocking noises, etc.
Luckily I still had my original suspension, put them back in and the car passed the NCT, nothing else changed. The cheap coilovers went into the bin. Utter sh^te to be honest.

Iv JOMs on my car they were on it when i bought it and so far after 3km there was only an issue with the links failing other than that they are fine...........so far........and i will change them at some point coz they are destined to fail and that could be at any stage.

I'd buy cheap or second hand on a track slut but for a road car it'd have to be at least €700 small name coil overs.

Or example, MeisterR's are supposed to be far better for MX5's than the equivalent Tien and at about €600 cheaper shipped to your door, the cheaper ones are still €900 delivered though.

Sounds like they weren't properly fitted or adjusted if they failed the nct more than likely they showed up imbalance?
