Terrazzo stairs

I have concrete stairs in my house that I'd like to put some kind of nice marble effect finish on. I've heard that Terrazzo is a good option.

First of all I'd appreciate any comments on Terrazzo, is it a good job? Does it keep well? Is it slippery for stairs? Is it expensive?

How much roughly would it cost for a standard enough set of stairs with a 90 degree bend in the middle?

Is there anyone in the Lifford (Co. Donegal) area that you's would recommend?

Finally, can anyone suggest an alternative?

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi
    I am intrigued!
It's so hard to find anyone who does terrazzo anymore - I would love to hear how you get on.
Beautiful finish if done correctly - & while the material is inherently 'slipy' the edge detail can be designed to comply with commercial regs.
I hope you find someone to do it - never a cheap option - but worth the effort I think - ER

Hi jplman. I was reading another thread of yours about ufh etc and was wondering could I ask you a couple questions since I am probably using the same supplier as you? I tried finding how I could pm you but wasn't able. Could you pm me please?

I will better go with industrial flooring with design of your choice. lasts longer and can work out cheaper. Like enke-werk.de, they have great design industrial floors.

I haven't come across anyone who does Terrazzo in Ireland but it may be worth asking some high-end Tile supply companies. They may know a specialist.
