It is BXE alright. Try partfinder.ie but you might have to travel a bit.

Why would you put another BXE in?
Surely better to fit a BKC that works with minor mods without refitting another grenade?

How many miles were on the passat when it went out of curiosity op?

hi guys its a BKC engine, the shell bearing and crank went, i was looking for the engine as it will be as cheap as fitting a new shaft, shell bearing and piston.

There was 115k miles on it.. I have to say these 08 version of the Passat is the worst car i have ever owned, pure skutter

What other problems has the passat had.
    Did you buy it new?

Get the engine fixed, don't bother with a secondhand engine with no history.

Some of those 1.9tdi's can give their fair share of troubles. Camshaft wear is another common issue on them.

Edit, Sorry I just seen that the crank went, did it go out through the block?, scrap fixing the engine idea if it did.

It did, so new engine required!!

Problems I've had over the passed 5 years:
    crank shaft
    shell bearing
    piston
    clutch
    flywheel
    water pump
    oil pressure sensor
    engine senor
    fuel pump
    AC compressor
    hand brake
    handbrake putton
