Expropriations and Arbitrations - Oxus Gold

From searching the forum I note a previous poster (account now closed), who kept a diary, was previously invested in Oxus Gold.

Just curious if any posters here have taken a punt on them with the result of their arbitration proceedings against the Uzbek government now due?

Disclosure: I'm in myself here at an average price of 2.10p. It's a binary play at this stage with what I'd estimate as an 80% chance of success.

Anyone here speculate on such stocks?

Another one that comes to mind is is Pathfinder Minerals. Their case isn't before the International Court of Arbitration, more the Mozambique Supreme Court. Having previously won their claim in the UK courts. I've not made a play here.

Edit: I should add. I'm not encouraging anyone into these stocks as they cannot be classed as investments. I'm just curious as to whether anyone on the board has an interest in these kind of cases. As I said they are binary plays.

I took my eye off this one.

Had thought Oxus would be decided before it.

Nice win for ARMS today (up 490%) and Oxus ringing in the new year at a 52 week high (up 37%) on no news.

Indeed. Oxus could easily give it all back tomorrow. Or; The MMs could let the speculation commence. It could easily gain another 50% on speculation alone. The MMs have been holding the share back due to one big seller. Personally, I don't care too much what the share does in the interim as I'll be holding until the final decision is published.

    Are you holding Chompdown?

My sentiments exactly! I wasn't following it so closely but from the forums it seems there was a bit of dirty tactics putting it into auction as the bids were coming in thick and fast at the end of the trading day.

I have 75,000 shares @ 2.05p. Not a lot, but enough to make things exciting.

Hopefully you are a shareholder too as I'm quite confident this will be a winner!

Money piling into Oxus today. It has to be just speculation. I can't believe news has been leaked.

Quite nervous now about a pump and dump. On the flip side it's currently up 60% on my initial entry point.

    Any news on this dubh?

I'm on holidays in an area with very poor internet access and just seeing the price at nearly 4p now! Crazy!

No new news since last week's Darwin announcement (They had a funding arrangement with Oxus which is now terminated).

P&D definitely accounted for some of the rise. Speculation that RAB have finished offloading too which had previously put a cap on the price.

The CEO was away for two weeks and was back in the office as of Wednesday. I wouldn't be surprised to see strong buying into the close for fear if being on the sideline if an RNS comes after the market closes.

Yep. RNS this evening has confirmed RAB are out. Bar their convertible loan notes.

It getting interesting now, but like you said I don't think there has been a leak, just a simple case of supply and demand for shares.

It's still either going to be a win or a lose but comforting to see people willing to take on the same risk we have but at more than double the price .

Looking forward to reading the bulletin boards when I get back from holidays.

All still very quiet here. An interesting link posted on another board this morning:
On May 15 the president of Uzbekistan signed a decree "ON MEASURES TO ENSURE RELIABLE PROTECTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY, SMALL BUSINESS AND PRIVATE ENTREPRENEURSHIP, REMOVE BARRIERS TO THEIR RAPID DEVELOPMENT"

    http://www.jahonnews.uz/en/policy/984/1830/

Pure speculation but this is quite coincidental given the timeframe and the current state of play with Oxus. Fingers still crossed on this one.
