What do people think of their saws with the auto tune or m tronic. Have upgraded equipment myself and have purchased 2 new stihls which is the m tronic. Early days yet but very happy. Wondering should i have made the move earlier or is it a move i will regret as i sold all my old gear.
So are older saws the best or should we embrace new technology like the way cars have developed?

Embrace it and keep up. Have a 550xp a couple of yrs now and not a single issue touch wood. No more on the job tuning for weather and temp conditions etc. I think they're great. To hell with the antis. They're faster, lighter, sip less fuel. It's all good. Only thing I find is keep a good fuel mix or run aspen and don't look back. Which stihls ya got?

Well.... I use Stihl, an MS260 most of the time, we have a 261 also, this is the more modern one with the fancy electronics an such, and whilst slightly more gutsy, and slightly easier on juice, i somehow prefer the 260 every time, it is a little lighter and handles much better in the wood.

Your covered for 99% of irish needs with that pair. How do you find the 441? I brought back a saw when I came home from the UK too.

Good saw, some saw to hold the rev in the cut. How is your 550 starting from cold, hot and in between, does it start when you want it to start?

Yeah I find it ultra reliable to be honest, I'd be the first to slate it if it gave me any hassle because I'm a picky sob :D
