Worst/Best quality jeans you have bought? (Men)

Seeing as we literally wear the arses out of our trousers, thought I would find out what people's experiences are buying jeans or the likes.

There are so many brands out there, it's hard to know where to start. Obviously budget dictates over all, but I would shell out a bit more if I knew they would last.

Some good/bad purchases from myself in the last few years.

Red Herring jeans from Debenhams. Bought a grey pair, wore the arse off them, still have them, but they're on their last legs, no pun intended. Not bad for €40.

However, I picked up a pair of blue ones for roughly the same price, and the backside ripped out of them in the space of a month. The material was light. If you held it up to the window you could also see through the denim.

I have a paid of G Star jeans which I bought around three or four years ago, and the only thing that has gone wrong, if you could call it that, is that they have faded. There is very little wear on them Really good quality, and surprised they are still going without any tears. They were pricey, but worth it.

I had a pair of Diesel jeans that lasted me for years as well. The front of them over the knees eventually gave way.

Levis, I find wear quite well, but the crotch or arse is always the first to go.

I bought a pair of Mustang jeans recently and was surprised to see some wear on them already, not long after buying them.

I also has some Lee jeans a few years ago, which also lasted me ages, and eventually came to the end of the road.

I am not sure on River Island, Next etc. I often find the fit is the problem with them as opposed to the quality.

Ah yeah, they all count. There's so much choice when it comes to buying a pair, you don't know if you should spend €20 on a pair or €80...

I generally wouldn't go for cheaper jeans as I prefer them to last and keep their shape. Haven't bought Jack and Jones jeans in a couple of years, but always found them very hit and miss (like all their clothes in my experience), they could be wrecked after 3 washes, or last 3 years. I found Next jeans always came apart at the seams, but that would usually be after about a year. Best quality jeans I've bought and generally only buy these days are from Tommy Hilfiger

Yeah, I hear you. I went of Jack and Jones stuff years ago. The fit I found was terrible. I always had to get them adjusted.
Diesel are good, but pricey. No experience of Hilfiger. Carharrt were good quality as well.

Bought these last year(i think can't remember) and two others in the Gap store in Dublin.,don't think there is better bang for the buck tbh
Before that it was Next or pennys/Dunnes or whatever. Can't wear those anymore as full of rips.

Think Gap are solid quality. tbf sold here at the price Levi's probably should be sold (and are in the states),but there is the ridiculous 70% markup for no reason. I'm not even sure Levi's prices come down in sales.

Bought a pair of really dark blue jeans ages ago to wear at work (only dark blue I have) for £90 .Turns out their Nudie raw jeans.
Only wear them when I really have to and lost the recipet to return them.Hardly worth the money for me tbh as I've no interest in this raw thing. The only plus is the rate I wear them they should last at least 30 years.

Wouldn't spend £90 again on trousers since I bought the Gaps for I think €35 a pair.
    Hate Dunnes Jeans in general.

I have a pair of Paul Costelloe ones from Dunnes which are grand. I find Hilfiger ones are pretty ok, pricey but I generally get them with some sort of discount. Gave up on Levis ages ago, way overpriced.

I dunno how the hell I manage it but I always wear them out at the crotch...

    Wear skinny jeans myself.

Find River Island ones to be extremely good hold there shape and and dont fade that bad.

Topman i find are crap for jeans they don't fit me proper in there at all. 30 inch is to tight and 32 inch is huge and with the length 32 inch is to short on me but 34 is to long so basically i need a 31 inch with a 33 inch leg for jeans from Topman to fit me right.

Nudie where do i start my fave jeans to wear pity they cost as much as they do. Have had some pairs nearly 3 years and they look and fit as they where new that all so extremely comfy and soft to wear.

All Saints like nudie extremely well fitted and comfy and soft and are a perfect fit on me.

Also have a pair of calvin klein skinny jeans that i picked up in TK max for 20 euros great fit and comfy only problem with them is when washing the die runs like hell in them as there a dark red jeans

Italian brand Gas http://www.gasjeans.com/en/denimguide-man/ make very good jeans. They don't seem to make some of the ones that I like anymore though. Really nice denim though. Personally I can't stand the denim in cheap jeans - the texture /feel and fit are never as good. I try to get good deals on good jeans though - I don't go around spending 200 a pair which gas and other good jeans can sell for - online you can find deals sometimes.. Although if you consider how often you may wear your jeans if they are a good fitting quality pair it's worth paying extra as you get so much use - no point in looking like a muppet to save 50 euro.

If you want to want make your jeans last longer you should wash them as little as possible. Washing machines tear them apart over time. Obviously when you do have them inside out. You can also get patches put on the inside (e.g at knees, back etc) for cheap by alterations people to extend the life of your favourite pair when you notice them getting worn in an area- not noticable from the outside.

Levi's are alright - Kildare village have a good deal at the mo for 2 pairs for 100 euro and have a great selection of sizes and types - better than paying 100 for one pair in Dublin city.

Energie also make good jeans. I think they are "eyetalan" as well.

Yeah, the crotch is always the first to go on mine, right where the legs are stitched together. When I was a nipper, it was the knees that were always the first to go.

I have found some of the fits, for shirts especially, in the Levis shop in Kildare village are not the best.

levis must make about 20 different models of jeans for men- you can probably find one that is going to suit you - wasn't saying that they are the best jeans of all - a decent not super-expensive high street option. gas, true religion etc are better but twice the price.
