Studying Zoology

I'm not sure if I am posting this in the correct section so apologies if not!

Anyways, i'm a 6th year student and I adore animals so I am hoping to do a course in college which will allow me to do practical hands on work with animals in future.

I'm looking into working in conservation and maybe doing a course in UCD, Trinity, or Galway on Zoology but I'm not sure if zoology is hands on enough for me, and if I should be doing veterinary?

I want to work with wild animals in a conservation centre/wildlife rehabilitation centre or something similar.

If anyone has any information on the Zoology courses in UCD or Trinity or other animal related courses I'd really appreciate it!

If you can get the points it sounds like you'd prefer something in veterinary alright, you could use that to specialise in wildlife then, and you could always do a masters in wildlife or conservation later on then.

Zoology is more about evolution and populations of species etc., which is important for conservation but wouldn't really give you any experience with handling or rehabilitating animals.

Id probably be looking at doing veterinary nursing or even a plc in animal science as the points are outrageous, the plc in animal science is linked to zoology in ucd and veterinary in dundalk I believe? Thank you very much!

The pay in Veterinary nursing would be dire. Something to consider.
