A new 6-part series airing on the 23rd Oct @ 9pm on BBC One from the Planet Earth / Blue Planet gang with good ol' Attenborough. Expecting some top-notch footage since that department usually roll out the best equipment (They filmed this in 4K)

    Lovely jovely:

Watching Ep.2, wondering just how they got some of those shots. How did they manage to get multiple cameras about six feet away from cheetahs, as they took down an impala, without disrupting the kill? The cheetahs must have become acclimatised to the camera crew in advance. The "making-of" bit this time was about the Arctic foxes.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

    — Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Astronaut
