Hi, currently cutting 2 beech trees which are down since the storm in February, was wondering has anyone a rough idea of what to charge for a load sold in rings, say a 10x6 trailer?

you would be better off splitting it and then selling that way

Very few people will buy wood that they have to split.
If they do it will have to be very cheap as its unseasoned and unsplit.

Cheers for the reply, have more than enough timber for myself and don't have the room to be honest so wouldn't mind getting rid of a few loads in rings!

How could you have more than enough timber  it isn't as if it's going to go off or anything.

You may not believe this but in the retail trade , timber is twice the price of coal .

A small bag of 7kg timber is a fiver in tesco , so this makes a tonne of timber 700 euro .

It means there are 142 bags in a tonne at a fiver is over 700 euro.

So to answer your question , you should get at least 300 a tonne as you have nearly the best hardwood in beech.

Above is cut timber by the way

With 16 trees down as a result of the storm in February and only tidied up now, 6 beech, 2 ash, and 8 populous I think I have more than any household can manage, yes selling a bit split but just want it cleared from the fields!

We did split wood the odd time and sold for 50e per 6ft bucket.
Loads of people will buy rings

Yes but the timber sold in the retail trade is dried, split and ready to burn.
Rings of green beech need splitting and drying for next winter.
Thats the problem, you can't compare apples with watermelons.

We cut our big rings in half here and then split them :)
