Hi, hope someone on here can give me some advice.
I have been on the Back to Work Allowance for the past year and a half as self employed but it has been extremely difficult to make ends meet and most weeks i don't earn anything extra. I have been offered an Internship with a company where I think I will be able to gain full employment at some stage. I am just wondering because I have been on the Back to Work Allowance am I able to cancel or come off that and take up the Internship offer? I have looked online to see if I can find an answer but can't seem to find anything.

All help/advice would be most appreciated
    Thanks

    Well, according to this http://www.jobbridge.ie/interneligible.aspx:

Periods spent on Back to Education Allowance, VTOS, FS/Failte Ireland Training course, Youthreach, FIT, Community Employment Schemes, TUS, Gateway, the Rural Social Scheme, Back to Work Scheme, Back to Work Enterprise Allowance, Momentum Courses, Job Initiative or Job Assist will count towards meeting the eligibility of JobBridge provided:

    - The individual has completed these programmes

    - Has a live claim
    - Is in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance/ Jobseekers Benefit/ Jobseeker Transition Payment/One Parent Family Payment/ Disability Allowance or signing for Social Insurance Contribution Credits immediately before commencing on JobBridge.

So, you'd really want to contact DSP yourself directly to clarify your exact situation.
